History of the Raisin Babies Jazz Band

The Raisin Babies Jazz Band was founded by Dave Ruffner in 1985. It is a part of the Fresno High School music department. Fresno High School was founded in 1886. The school has produced such notable figures such as William Saroyan, Mike Connors, Tom Seaver, Cher, Dick Contino, Ross Bagdasarian and Sacramento’s own Roger Krum. Dixieland has been played at Fresno High School off and on for many years.
